Pushpa 2 Review: Pushpa Gaadi Thandavam – Allu Arjun’s finest performance When a film or franchise becomes a hit in the film industry, the expectations of the audience from its next part also increase a lot. Something similar has happened with ‘Pushpa’. The first part of the film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ had made its place in the hearts of the audience since the release of the film.

The character of Pushparaj played by Allu Arjun was not only among the Telugu audience but also became a popular icon among Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam speaking audiences. Now, in December 2024, director Sukumar and Allu Arjun have returned with ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ and there were many questions in everyone’s mind about this film – will the film be as strong as the audience has expected?

Will Pushparaj be able to get rid of his biggest enemy ?

Pushpa 2 Review: Pushpa Gaadi Thandavam – Allu Arjun’s finest performance The plot of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ shows the situation after the events of the first part. Pushparaj (Allu Arjun) has now become the head of the red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. In this film, he is seen fighting everyone from the Chief Minister of the state to his biggest enemy Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

An important incident in the film occurs when Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna) asks her husband Pushparaj to click a photo with the Chief Minister of the state, but the Chief Minister refuses to accept it because he is a smuggler. This makes Pushparaj’s situation even more difficult, and he has to face new dangers. This time the audience will see what big challenges Pushparaj has to face to save his empire and whether Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil) is successful in taking revenge for the insult he faced in the first part or not.

Performance:

Everyone remembers the way Allu Arjun portrayed the character of Pushparaj on screen in the first part and now he has given a new dimension to this character in Pushpa 2. His acting skills shine even more in this film. His acting was especially superb in the Jathara episode where he mesmerized the audience with his every physical reaction and facial expression.

Talking about Fahadh Faasil’s acting, he has also proved his mettle as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. He did not have impressive screen time but his timing and spontaneity made him a fun and charming character in the film. While there are some flaws in the writing of his character, Fahadh’s acting somehow hid these flaws.

Rashmika Mandanna has given a great performance in the role of Srivalli. Be it a romantic scene or an emotional scene, she made every scene exciting with her ability. Apart from this, Srileela’s dance number “Kissik” also added to the beauty of the film.

Technical Aspects of Pushpa 2 Review

Devi Prasad’s music has brought life to this film. The song “Suseki” which has an amazing chemistry between Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna will be a hit on many people’s playlists in the coming days. Apart from this, the background score by Sam CS and Devi Sri Prasad also helps in setting the mood of this film. There is a slight problem in the background score and sync sound at some places which has a minor impact on this film. Pushpa 2 is a very good film.

Miroslav Kuba Brozek‘s cinematography is commendable. Especially after seeing his work in the Jathara episode, it is clearly felt that he is a master of visual creativity. Many shots of the film have touched the heart. However, Naveen Nooli‘s editing seems a bit weak, especially in the second half, the pace slows down at some places.

Positive Points:

  1. Allu Arjun’s brilliant performance in this film – this film can prove to be the best part of his acting journey.
  2. Jathara Episode – Not just Allu Arjun, but the entire cast has given a stellar performance in this part.
  3. Fahadh Faasil’s charming performance – Fahadh has left a very good impression in the role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
  4. Four hit songs – Devi Prasad’s music will surely be loved by the audience.
  5. Sukumar’s writing and direction – Sukumar’s stylistic and deep thinking writing will help take this film to another level

Negative points

  1. Weakness in his editing in the second half – Some parts of this film become a bit slow and the editing could have been improved a bit.
  2. Weakness in the antagonist character – Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat’s character is impressive but the film lacks a strong antagonist character.
  3. Sound sync problems – There were slight problems in sound sync in some scenes.

Analysis:

Sukumar has made another great commercial masala film in Pushpa 2. The film has a perfect blend of fast-paced action, romance, and drama. However, despite some technical flaws and slow-paced portions, the overall experience of the film is great. Allu Arjun’s brilliant performance and Sukumar’s direction make the film worth watching.

If you were a fan of the first part of Pushpa, then you cannot miss this film. This film is a great return of Allu Arjun as Pushparaj who still stands strong.

Final Verdict: If you are a fan of strong performances, stylish action, and great songs, then give ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ a watch.
