Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-2 (Urban), the state government has given a big relief to the elderly, widows and abandoned women. Now including the middle income group in the eligibility, in addition to the grant, additional assistance of Rs 30 thousand will be provided to the elderly and Rs 20 thousand to widows and abandoned women. This proposal has been approved by circulation in the cabinet.
22 proposals approved before Mahakumbh cabinet meeting
Before the cabinet meeting to be held on January 22 in Prayagraj under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 22 proposals have been approved by the cabinet by circulation. The government has not given any information about these proposals at the moment. It is expected that these important decisions can be announced after the meeting to be held in Mahakumbh.
Rs 10,000 reward for those who build houses in 12 months
An important proposal under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-2 (Urban) is that whoever completes the construction of a house within 12 months will be given a separate reward of Rs 10,000. At present, eligible beneficiaries are being provided a grant of Rs 2.50 lakh for house construction.

The state government has also made a provision that these houses cannot be sold or transferred to anyone else’s name for five years. The scheme includes four categories: interest subsidy scheme, beneficiary’s individual housing construction scheme, affordable housing scheme in partnership, and affordable rental housing scheme.
Grant up to Rs 2.50 lakh from banks
Under the interest subsidy scheme, beneficiaries taking loans will be given a grant of up to Rs 2.50 lakh from banks. Additional assistance of Rs 2.50 lakh will be given for housing construction on individual land. Apart from this, beneficiaries of weaker income group, lower income group, and middle income group have been given a discount of up to Rs 2.5 lakh for the buildings constructed by the Development Authority and Housing Development Council.
Priority to deprived sections
In this scheme, priority has been given to Divyangjan, senior citizens, transgender, SC-ST, widows, unmarried women, minorities, and other deprived sections of society.
This scheme has proved to be a big step towards economically and socially empowering the deprived and needy sections in the state.
