Gautam Gambhir gets ‘Virat Kohli advice’ ahead of Perth Test

Unexpected Advice for Gautam Gambhir: A ‘Virat Kohli Suggestion’ Before Perth Test The Indian cricket team is facing challenges due to the absence of captain Rohit Sharma and batsman Shubman Gill ahead of the Perth Test. The Indian team needs a new batsman to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal and a suitable player to fill Gill’s place at number 3. Meanwhile, 1983 World Cup-winning Indian team member Kirti Azad has suggested that head coach Gautam Gambhir should field Virat Kohli at number 3.

Kohli has batted at number 3 in all formats during his illustrious career. However, in recent times he has preferred batting at number 4. But Kirti Azad believes that Kohli is best suited for this position in the absence of Gill.

Kirti Azad’s statement:

“I think Kohli is the best option for number three. He has scored runs at number three in all formats. Always your best batsman should play at number three.”

Although players like Devdutt Padikkal, Rituraj Gaikwad and Sarfaraz Khan are also available for this position, Azad advocated Kohli’s name, especially considering his recent form.

He further said, “Kohli has done a lot for the country, and we hope he will do well again. He likes challenges, and this challenge in Australia will not be easy.”

Virat Kohli’s form is a matter of concern for the Indian team at the moment. He could not even score a total of 100 runs in 6 innings against New Zealand. He has scored only one half-century in his last 10 Test innings.

Still, experts hope that Virat Kohli will return to his old form from the first match of the 5-Test series in Australia.
