Live-in partner murder: How one mistake put the accused behind bars According to the Hinjewadi police, the incident took place on the night of November 24. The accused suspected that his 27-year-old live-in partner was having an affair with another man. Due to this suspicion, the two had a loud argument on the Wakad Service Road. During this argument, the accused got angry and attacked the woman with a hammer, which led to her death.
Events after the murder
After committing the murder, the accused, who works as a supervisor at an AC maintenance firm in Wakad, took the woman’s body to Khambatki Ghat to dispose it off. There, he dumped the body in the bushes and on the same day, a truck driver spotted a woman’s body in the bushes near Khambatki Ghat and informed the Khandala police.
Left son and filed a missing person report
After the murder, the accused left his three-year-old son in Alandi and lodged a missing person report at the Hinjewadi police station. But this further increased the suspicion of the police.
Police investigation and accused’s confession
On November 26, the police asked the accused to file a missing person report of his live-in partner and on the same day, a truck driver passing by found the body of the woman in the bushes near Khambatki Ghat. The police checked the phone records of the accused, and through which the police came to know that the phone was switched off from the day of the incident till November 26. When the police interrogated him strictly, the accused told the truth and confessed his crime. He told the police that he had committed the murder due to suspicion and anger and he regretted his mistake.
Victim’s background
The victim was a resident of Parli village in Beed district. After six months of marriage, for some reason, she decided to separate from her husband and separated and started living in Pune. Here, she met the accused, after which their relationship began.
Further action
The accused is now in police custody. The police is investigating the incident and legal action is also underway.
