WWE SmackDown: CM Punk and Roman Reigns brawl, focus on Survivor Series
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis had announced that everyone would be banned from ringside at the Jey vs. Fatu match for Survivor Series: WarGames. The move was taken in view of the growing tension between the two parties, so that the match remains fair. So that there is no problem later.
After this, WWE aired a pre-recorded conversation between Reigns and Punk on the show. During this, Paul Heyman mediated between the two. And the tension was evident right from the start. Punk arrived late to the meeting, which led to Reigns claiming that he did not need Punk’s help. While Punk insisted that he was only there at Heyman’s request.
Heyman reminded the two that this partnership was beneficial to both and was necessary for both. Heyman said that Sequoia had been keeping Reigns in checkmate since the night after WrestleMania. Along with this, he had also revealed that Punk has been next on The Bloodline’s hit list due to his association with Reigns and his position in the promotion.
However, the two eventually agreed that they would put their differences aside for one night. Punk hinted at a one-on-one confrontation with Reigns and claimed that Heyman owed him a favor. When Reigns asked Heyman what that favor was, Heyman simply suggested that they focus on Survivor Series.
This situation mirrors the controversy surrounding WWE’s Survivor Series and reflects the build-up to the upcoming WarGames match.
