Anticipating heavy footfall across Noida and Greater Noida, officials have implemented extensive security measures to prevent untoward incidents.

Strategic Zone-Wise Monitoring

The district has been divided into three super zones, overseen by deputy commissioners of police (DCPs). These super zones are further subdivided into 10 zones, 27 sectors, and 119 sub-sectors to facilitate efficient monitoring.

Mall Security Enhancements

Malls have been instructed to ensure proper lighting in parking zones, deploy additional security near women’s washrooms, and install safety nets to prevent mishaps.

Traffic Management:

Vulnerable stretches prone to speeding will have traffic personnel equipped with speed guns. Zigzag barriers will be placed at 115 locations, and breathalyser checks will be conducted at 30 junctions.

Parking and Vehicle Regulations

Designated parking facilities are available at GIP, Gardens Galleria, and other prominent malls. Sector 18’s multilevel parking will accommodate vehicles, while the road under the Sector 18 Metro Station will remain closed. Violations, including parking in restricted areas, will result in e-challans.

Drunk Driving and Nuisance Prevention

Strict action will be taken against those caught driving under the influence. Vehicles will be seized, and hefty fines imposed. Additionally, certified cabs and autos will be available to assist women in emergencies.

Permissions and Law Enforcement

Station house officers have been directed to ensure that no unauthorized parties take place in malls, clubs, or community halls. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh emphasized that consuming alcohol in parked vehicles, reckless driving, or creating a public nuisance will not be tolerated.

Key Figures

Nearly 2 lakh vehicular movements are expected in the district on December 31.
3,000 personnel and PAC support will ensure round-the-clock safety.

With these measures, Noida is set to welcome the New Year with enhanced security and public order.
