Trump also said that Dr. Oz will promote disease prevention and ensure the best outcomes for every dollar spent on healthcare.Dr. Oz’s appointment is being linked to Trump’s agenda, which includes cutting government spending. Trump said.
Reforming Medicaid and government spending
“Dr. Oz will reduce waste and fraud at our nation’s most expensive government agency, which consumes a large portion of our healthcare budget.”
Dr. Oz’s Background and Experience
Dr. Mehmet Oz is a cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality. He gained fame in 2009 through “The Dr. Oz Show”, which reached millions of viewers and won multiple Emmy Awards.
In 2018 and 2020, Trump appointed him to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. However, while running for the Senate election from Pennsylvania in 2022, Dr. Oz lost to Democratic candidate John Fetterman.
Dr. Oz and Obamacare
In previous years, Dr. Oz has expressed support for Obamacare. However, during the Senate election, his campaign distanced itself from these views. Nevertheless, this approach differs from Trump’s first presidential campaign, when he promised to repeal Obamacare.
