UP by-election results: SP ahead in Karhal and Kundarki seats, BJP candidates behind Counting of votes for by-elections on nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh is underway. In the initial trends, BJP is leading on six seats and SP on three seats. A three-tier security arrangement has been made at the counting venue.
1. Katehari seat:
BJP candidate Dharmaraj Nishad has taken an early lead. Ahead of SP’s Shobhavati Verma by about 300 votes.
2. Mirzapur (Majhawan seat):
BJP’s Suchismita Maurya ahead by 1457 votes. In the first round, BJP got 3035 votes and SP got 1578 votes.
3. Sisamau seat (Kanpur):
In the second round, BJP got 3795 votes and SP got 1940 votes.
4. Phulpur seat (Prayagraj):
SP’s Mujtaba ahead with 2400 votes. – BJP’s Deepak got 2137 votes and BSP got 399 votes.
5. Khair seat (Aligarh):
BJP candidate Surendra Diler ahead by 3447 votes. SP’s Charu Ken and BSP’s Dr. Pehal Singh behind.
6. Karhal seat (Mainpuri):
SP’s Tej Pratap Yadav ahead by 800 votes. BJP’s Anuj Yadav behind.
7. Meerapur seat (Muzaffarnagar):
Tough fight between SP’s Sumbul Rana and other candidates. The effect of division of Muslim votes will be seen.
8. Counting process:
After postal ballots, EVMs are being counted on 14 tables on Khair seat. Counting of total 426 EVMs will be completed in 31 rounds.
9. Sisamau seat:
SP’s Naseem Solanki leading with 4684 votes, BJP got 2333 votes. Strict security at counting centres and ban on mobile phones. RLD candidate reached the counting centre after paying obeisance at the temple and sought support. Stay tuned for every information related to the results.
