According to sources, today BJP can declare Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister. BJP has appointed Arun Singh as the central observer.
Support for Shinde
Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has made it clear that whoever BJP makes the Chief Minister, Shiv Sena will support him. He has said that he will accept the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. With this, Shinde has taken himself out of the race for the post of CM, which has further strengthened the chances of Devendra Fadnavis.
Fear of Maratha community’s displeasure
The central leadership is worried about the Maratha community being angry if a non-Maratha is made the Chief Minister. The Maratha community may get angry. - BJP: 20 ministerial posts
- Shiv Sena: 11-12 ministerial posts
- NCP: 10 ministerial posts
